Come and fly the skies where black eagles soar, hike the paths of the leopard, climb the rocks where baboons play and spend some time at a rock pool each day.

Tucked high up in the Olifants River Mountains above Porterville in the Western Cape in South Africa, Beaverlac offers camping and cabins to maximise your enjoyment of nature. Situated in a secluded 5000 hectare valley surrounded by mountains, Beaverlac is blessed with two rivers, the Ratel (Honey Badger) and the Olifants.

A wide variety of hiking and mountain bike trails and rock pools are available for visitors.

(Beaverlac is a huge campsite that can easily accomodate 1000+ people but we do limit the number of people per day to maintain a safe camping distance between tents/caravans)

THE BOOKING SYSTEM IS A SIMPLE 2 STEP PROCESS:

1. MAKE SURE EVERYONE 18 YEARS AND OLDER DO REGISTER FIRST. SEE THE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS BELOW.

2. COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THE ONLINE CAMPING BOOKING FORM. SEE THE BOOKING REQUIREMENTS BELOW.

The onus is on you to read and to comply with the requirements. Do not blame it on the system.

PLEASE READ AND MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND OUR CAMPING RULES BEFORE YOU REGISTER. PEOPLE WHO DO NOT ABIDE BY OUR RULES WILL BE BANNED FOREVER.

REGISTRATION OF PEOPLE REQUIREMENTS:

Registration is a free and once-off and is compulsory for every person 18 years and older.

YOUR LEGAL FULL FIRST NAME AND SURNAME is required. Initials or nicknames are not allowed

ID NUMBER is required for RSA Citizens. Passport numbers are not allowed.

PASSPORT NUMBER: Foreigners ONLY.

YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS: You can use an email address once only, to register. PLEASE DO NOT USE CORPORATE EMAIL ADDRESSES OR OUTLOOK.

USERNAME NOTIFICATION : We will email your username WITHIN 24 HOURS to YOUR registered email address. The notification is an automatic system generated no reply email and may end up in your spam/junk mail folders.

ONLINE CAMPING BOOKING FORM PROCEDURE AND REQUIREMENTS

DO NOT MAKE ANY DEPOSITS FOR TENT/CARAVAN. PAYMENT FOR THE FULL AMOUNT DUE IS IN CASH ONLY UPON ARRIVAL

The online booking form must be completed per one vehicle and makes provision for 6 persons.

If you are more than 6 persons in the same vehicle an additional online booking form must be completed. Put the word “continuation” after the vehicle number plate number.

DO NOT LIST NON REGISTERED PERSONS ON THE BOOKING FORM. PLEASE READ THE BOOKING REQUIREMENTS ABOVE

There are 2 age groups on the online booking form:

4-17 Years: The first name and surname of the person is required. ID numbers are not required.

18+ Years: Legal first name (not initials or nicknames) and surname and also the ID or Passport number is required. IMPORTANT: The 18 years or older persons you list on the booking form must be registered members.

Kids younger than 4 years old:

Please do not list kids younger than 4 years old. They are not paying quests.

When you complete the online booking form DO NOT

- list non registered persons. If you do, the camping request will be rejected by us.

- make a booking on behalf of other vehicles. The driver of the vehicle must do the booking.

- make double bookings.

No need to inform us about a change of vehicles.

CABIN BOOKING REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURE

Phone 022 931 2945 to check availability or to book a cabin. DO NOT EMAIL US. Call ONLY between 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

You must be a registered member to book a cabin.Provide your USER ID to our Office.You will see your USER ID on the top of the Home Page under "WELCOME TO BEAVERLAC" after login.

Once you secured a cabin through our Office, please do the following immediately:

MAKE A 50% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT PER EFT PAYMENT INTO OUR BANK ACCOUNT WITHIN 48 HOURS. USE THE CABIN NAME AND DATE AS DEPOSIT REFERENCE. SEE THE "CONTACT PAGE" FOR OUR BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS.

E-MAIL PROOF OF YOUR DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS TO:

COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THE ONLINE CAMPING BOOKING FORM PER CABIN.

Ensure that your 18 years and older guests are registered members as well. Access will be denied if you bring non members along. See the registration requirements above.

Put the cabin name in brackets after the vehicle number plate number on the online booking form.

Put the word "(cabin)" after the names of the persons sleeping in the cabin.

If you bring tent campers along in your vehicle, put the word "(camper)" after their names.

Outstanding balances are payable in cash only upon arrival at Beaverlac. We do not have card facilities.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCELL YOUR CABIN BOOKING SHOULD YOU FAIL TO MEET THE ABOVE CABIN BOOKING REQUIREMENTS AND DEADLINES.

PREPARE YOURSELF BEFORE DEPARTING TO BEAVERLAC

1. Ensure that you have the camping approval and permit with you otherwise access will be denied. A snapshot of the camping approval and permit saved on your cell phone is fine. Just make sure that the phone battery is fully charged and remember there is no cell phone reception at Beaverlac.

2. Do not bring persons along who are not duly booked and listed on a camping approval. We will not allow them into Beaverlac. If you decide to drive with a different vehicle or in more than one vehicle it is fine. No need to inform us about your travel arranagements as long as the persons in the vehicles are listed on an approved booking.

3. Bring enough cash along. Payment is in cash only. We do not have card facilities.

4. Beaverlac gate is open daily between 08:00 and 17:00. Fridays during season times (October to April) 08:00 to 21:00.

ARRIVING AT BEAVERLAC

1. Please book in at Reception first before you set up your camping spot.

2. Once booked in, you can proceed to find a camping spot. We do not have demarcated sites and we do not reserve sites. First come first serve. Try to arrive within the gate times and remember the camp sites do not have electricity.

3. Cabin reservations: The Cabin key will be handed only to person who booked the cabin and if any outstanding amount is paid in full. Again make sure you bring enough cash along.

DEPARTING FROM BEAVERLAC

1. Please vacate before 17:00 on your departure date.

2. People staying in cabins please vacate the cabin before 10:00 am on your departure date.

** All visitors to Beaverlac are required to adhere to the Rules & Regulations - READ HERE**

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

1.We do not have demarcated camping spots. You may camp anywhere and next to your friends in the camping area. We do not reserve camping spots. First come first serve.

2.No electricity available at the campsites but we do have a freezer and power point at the shop for use by campers.

3.Small cars do make it in and out of Beaverlac provided the car is not heavily loaded. You use the farm road down to Beaverlac at your own risk.

4.Make sure your vehicle is serviced and in good mechanical order before you come to Beaverlac. We do not provide free tow-in services, mechanical services or sell fuel at Beaverlac.

5.There is no cell phone reception at Beaverlac and we do not provide a WI-FI service.

6.Please do not bring non-registered members along. They will not be allowed into the camp.

7. VEHICLES ON THE FARM ROADS ARE FORBIDDEN. A R500 FINE IS APPLICABLE IF YOU DO.

8.NO DAY VISITORS allowed.

9.NO DROP AND GO CAMPERS AND NO BUSES OR TAXIS.

10.Friendly and well-behaved dogs are welcome, BUT please keep your dog under control at all times. Dogs are not allowed in rock pools where people are swimming. If your dog becomes a problem to other campers we will demand you to remove the dog from the camp. Dogs on heat are not allowed at Beaverlac.

11.The campsite must be vacated no later than 17:00 (5Pm) on your date of departure.

12.By submitting a camping request you also accept to abide by all our rules. Failure to abide by our rules will result in immediate and permanent eviction.

13.MUSIC AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS ARE FORBIDDEN. WE WANT QUIET AT ALL TIMES AND ABSOLUTE SILENCE in the camp FROM 11:00 pm till 7:00 am THE FOLLOWING MORNING. Please report offenders at the shop. All we need is their car registration numbers.

14.Over the New Years Season (25 December to 2 January) you must book for at least 3 nights.

15. Arrival times:

Monday to Thursday and Sunday: 8:00 Am to 4:30 Pm.

Friday: 8:00 Am to 9:00 Pm

Saturday: 8:00 Am to 5:00 Pm

DEPARTURE TIMES:

Cabins must be vacated no later than 10:00Am on the departure date.

The camping area must be vacated no later than 5:00Pm on the departure date.
